Content
Participants will learn about the differences between monitoring and evaluation, including objectives, timing, data, and utilities of different types of evaluations. We will look into recent trends of gender equality policies in the European Research Area and understand the linkages between policy instruments, program logics and objectives, and contextual factors which play a crucial role in deciding on the type and scope of an evaluation. We will discuss the specific case of a “policy-field” being subject to an evaluation as opposed to a single program. Finally, we will create an overview on the strengths and limitations of different assessment methods and impact models. The session involves input and teamwork.
This session complements the Mutual Learning Workshop on “Monitoring and Evaluation of Gender Equality Policies”.
